Who’s Who online
2008 WSOP on DVR . Poker and Technology!!
Ive been very busy lately with a work project and am just now catching up on The main event of the 2008 WSOP thanks to my DVR. So far im up to episode 6 of 20 . I was slightly dissapointed that they only aired a handful of the other events and are showcasing 20 episodes of the main event. (of course I am thankful they didnt just give the Hinkle brothers theyre own show. Maybe fOX network will pick it up for syndication.) I am enjoying the coverage though and always enjoy the short background info they share on alot of the players especially the heartfelt stories.
Norman Chad withstanding ESPN really does a good job at covering the main event and so far there are several moments Ive found interesting. I really enjoyed Chuck Ladells play and the fact that Mark Seif didnt explode all over Chucks 62 off call after a raise to hit two pair shows that Mark is smart on and off the felt. Erick Lindgrin the WSOP player of the year is true to form a class act. Of course a life of Golf and Poker who wouldnt have a great outlook on life and the cool personality to match. Hats off to Erick and congratulations. Phil Helmuth another easy on the eyes entrance. My eyes being on the lovely ladies not the patton wannabe out fit being worn by the”Poker brat.” I do hope he stick to his idea of visiting the troops and doing some book/video drops and maybe a tournament. If he carries that out I salute him as a Player and an American! Chiou Chang hand of the tourney with the Straight Flush to the King. However I think I missed the hand that Ray Romano witnessed that beat 4 Aces. (OUCH!!)
Another classy guy Barry Greenstein did his book autographing for the player knocking him out, fortunately this doesn’t cost Barry too much because he is a great player and doesn’t get knocked out often! Some good play from former Champions this well also Joe Hachem and Chris Moneymaker both had decent runs. And the Great Dane Gus Hansen is still in so hell be fun to watch. The funniest moment so far for me though had to be Phil Laak playing all of day one dressed as an older gentleman called “Walter”. (Way to go Phil I loved it!)
Thats all I have so far but I will continue to recap as I get deeper into catching up on my DVR.
I won the $1 tournament 676 players!!!

Not bad for a freeroll from pokercast 2+2. I got beat AQoff versus 10 9clubs when I flopped A Q and a 10, I moved all in A and Q were clubs with his 3rd club on the river. Sick call to my all in I was second In chips. And by sick I mean horrible!
Prince of Poker or Miserable Joker????
I just watched the 2008 WSOP 50k HORSE tournament on the ESPN .Like Im sure everyone else did and OMG!! Was it just me or did Scotty Nguyen get painted to look like a total a$$? Its one thing to scold the young DeMichele on his table side antics as I can agree he may have been slightly out of line with his victory dance. ( Although a double fist pump doesnt really qualify as a dance even in Scottland)And we could all tell that some of the more experienced players took offense to this. However( and thats a big HOWEVER) what in the hell was Scotty doing?? He took it to an entirely new level of offensive rudeness that would’ve made Phil Helmuth feel bad as a person. It appeared at first that He was trying to make DeMichele feel bad about upsetting Edog but then that eventually turned into some dark Scottyism that even aggravated the mild mannered Eric Lindgrin to calling Scotty out and using language that will cause David William’s mom to wash his mouth outwith soap for.
Is this a new dark Scotty?? A man still reeling from his meltdown in the 2007 main event??
I dont know the answer but if this is his new persona Im hating it baby!!!
By the way Lane Flack going up to the final table and fist bumping Scotty, hey he should teach a poker ettiquite class. Good Diss Edog I would’ve ignored Lane Flack’s Hi-Five too!!
